Today is a perfect day in Nor Cal: Seventy degrees and sunny, a light breeze blowing the leaves on our plentiful trees. What makes it really perfect is, first, it is Friday; and second, that I have the third issue of Under the Gum Tree next to my lounge chair in the shade.

I know it came out in April, but since I am one of the editors, and had helped acquire, edit, and then copy edit the issue, I needed to put it down for a bit.  Now, as we approach the final stages in prepping Issue 4, I can enjoy it for the great creative non-fiction and the incredible photo essay it contains.
