October 1-9

San Francisco

If you’ve never experienced Lit Quake, you’ve never experienced a true immerse-yourself-in-literati-festival. San Francisco, perhaps the most literary city in the world (I’m a Beat fan, what can I say), hosts this event every year. There are events to pay for, events for free, events to sell your firstborn for (ie Salute to Ferlinghetti and City Lights).

A bit of wonderful craziness: “The Infamous, Indefatigable Lit Crawl” Saturday, October 9, where you and several hundred(?) of your closest friends jam your sweaty bodies into various venues along the Valencia Street Corridor in the Mission District.

Check it out.
