I wrote a First and Second Look for Narrative Magazine on one of my favorite books: Through the Arc of the Rainforest by Karen Tei Yamashita.

I almost got to see her read from her new novel, I Hotel, in Santa Cruz last month, but a family commitment (damn them!) kept me from it. In any case, she is perhaps one of the most relevant and enjoyable writers out there today.
