I just posted a link down under writerly sites to Wordstock’s site: Richard Ford reading John Cheever’s Reunions. What a perfect example of “showing, not telling.” Should be required reading for all aspiring writers. I read so many pieces of fiction by writers who just don’t get it. Or they just can’t do this. This is not small talk, headless dialogue; this is all good.
